Meanwhile the plot thickens.
Aside from the $20,000 dinner at Le Cirque, there’s the $15,000 steak dinner blowout of Rep. Danilo Suarez purportedly for the first couple’s wedding anniversary. As if the†madlang masa do not know that FG and PGMA have not been sharing a bedroom since who knows when. Oh Rep. Suarez vehemently denies that the bill summed up to $15,000. It is only about $12,000 he said. Emphasis on ONLY.
And what about the Waldorf -Astoria accommodations. The suite life! †Rep. Benny Abante admitted that the entire delegation was billeted on the immorally expensive hotel (The Mariott is just across the street for half the price). †But Abante claims complete ignorance about the details of their accommodations. He claims he doesn’t know how much was his suite, who made the booking, who footed the bill. Maybe he is ignorant. But the more plausible explanation is that the rich — I mean the poor — pastor must be lying to his teeth.†Hala! Your reverence!
I bet my big butt that there is more to come on this. After all the overstaying palace border is certainly worth much more than an lavishly expensive NY dinner or two.
