AboutPH is pleased to announce the launching of its newest infoblog — Laugh Out Loud Philippines! †Well, it’s not so much an infoblog but an entertainment blog.
Laugh Out Loud Philippines (aka LOL-PH) was envisioned to be the biggest collection, albeit quite loose, collection of anything and everything that Pinoys find funny — jokes, funny anecdotes, witty quotations, wacky photos, “oops” moments, and a lot more. †The materials come from everywhere — text/SMS forwards, email forwards, books, magazines, etc. — and they are not necessarily original Pinoy materials. †The basic idea is, well, very basic: †If Pinoys find it funny, it can be posted in this Website.
Laugh Out Loud Philippines is, in many ways, a microcosm of Philippine daily life. †Pinoys love to laugh — at each other. †The materials you will find here are often a reflection of reality in the Pinoy’s day-to-day struggles around him and with himself.
It is often said that one of the biggest strengths of Pinoys is their ability to find hum0r in even the bleakest of conditions. †We in AboutPH think it goes deeper than that. †It’s a lot more personal. †It is the innate capacity of the Pinoy for self depreciation. †In the form of jokes they deflect the self depreciation by passing it on to the ubuquitous Juans, Pedros, Marias, and Juanas. †But the truth is, they are making fun of no other than themselves.
And so as you click through the many funny materials you will find in Laugh Out Loud Philippines you go ahead and laugh out loud at yourself. †It’s a lot of fun, isn’t it? †Enjoy.
