Asyong Aksaya

A monicker, often in a derogatory sense, given to persons who are wasteful. Aksaya is a Tagalog word which translates to wasteful or excessive

Based on the iconic comics character conceptualized and popularized by National Artist Larry Alcala.

Asyong Aksaya have since been used in various government and non-governmental programs and projects as a symbol to sarcastically depict energy waste, particularly during the energy crisis in the 1970s.
