About Philippines present its latest online poll:  Should Ombudsman Merceditas Gutierrez already resign or should she face her imminent impeachment trial?

The Philippines is again confronted by yet another impeachment proceedings, this time involving the currently sitting Ombudsman.

As usual there are many differing and often opposing views on the issue.

Some sectors, including Malacanang, are urging Ombudsman Merceditas Gutierrez to already resign and spare the institution and the country of the”trauma” of the hostile and divisive proceedings.

Others say she should not resign and instead face the impeachment trial and answer for her “sins” to the Filipino people.

Of course, Merci herself has something to say about this.  She vows not to resign, claiming that she is innocent of the charges and the attack on her person and the office are all politically motivated.
